 Coral Lodge: Eco Sanctuary

Lately I have been craving seclusion, serenity, a smaller Eco Reserve where I can spend my days in the warm Caribbean sea, swimming, diving, renewing my spiritual connection with nature. Perhaps sit in silence with a loved one or just watch the sunset linger in solidarity.  I have been reading a lot about Panama but never touched the shoreline with wanderlust.

There is a boutique  resort called Coral Lodge set in a secluded cove off the Caribbean coast near the San Blas Islands, about a half-hour by plane from Panama City that boasts 6 thatched roof over water bungalows. The over water bungalows are sustainable with natural furnishings, set in earth tones for your return to simplicity. The bathrooms appointed with walk in showers, and a large whorlpool tub for soaking your cares away.  Off the main accommodation you will find two-tier sun decks that will descend into the gentle warm Caribbean sea. The sun decks perfect for lounging in a hammock and sipping  a cool and refreshing glass of Seco Con Leche which  is Panama's national liqueur which is 80% and distilled from sugar cane.  The Seco is usually mixed with milk or coconut milk. Just off your decks you will be witness to a personal aquarium without leaving the comforts of land observing rays, turtles, nurse sharks and myriad of uncountable tropical fish.

The manager of the boutique resort is also a dive instructor and offers beginners PADI certification followed by reef dives just off coast and in the remote San Blas Islands.  Coral Lodge is an all encompassing eco friendly resort as just behind it meets a lush virgin rain forest you will be serenaded by the indigenous birds and may spot a monkey or two.

The spa at Coral Lodge is not a destination but a state of mind as you will receive luxe personalized treatments off of your private deck as you watch the sleepy sun set or in your bungalow to the soundtrack of the gentle rolling waves. Kamile is the master Aveda therapist at Coral Lodge. Offering guests a complementary massage upon arrival.

There is a restaurant located on property.  Coral Lodge offers three meal plans: European, American, and All Inclusive to fit all of your culinary needs. The meals are prepared with all local organic indigenous produce.

Coral Lodge has graciously offered Skyline Destinations clients a 10% discount when booking a 5 night getaway.  This is an undiscovered gem and I can not wait to spend my holiday basking in the sun in this secluded eco gem.
